Latest guidance agrees that high pressure to the northeast of the
state will support moderate to brisk trades through the period
(perhaps on the stronger side mid-late next week as the pressure
gradient tightens a bit) along with mostly windward and mountain
focus for showers. Consensus shows a weak upper low tracking just
south of the main islands from the weekend into next week, and
this feature could promote some occasional enhancement of rainfall
though with amounts tending to be in the lighter half of the
spectrum. Precipitable water values will fluctuate with pockets
of moisture carried along in the trades, though in varying ways
the 00Z ECMWF/12Z ECens mean show potential for at least a brief
increase next week on the eastern side of the upper low.
Otherwise moisture should remain below climatological values.
