CENTRAL GULF COAST WITH LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN FARTHER NORTH OVER
SATURATED GROUND...

FLASH FLOOD AND FLOOD WARNINGS AND WATCHES ARE IN EFFECT FOR
PORTIONS OF THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND WESTERN PORTIONS OF
THE SOUTHEAST...AND STRETCHING FROM NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND
SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS THROUGH THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY...OHIO
VALLEY...AND INTO THE UPPER GREAT LAKES.

AT 300 PM CDT...A SURFACE LOW WITH A CENTRAL PRESSURE OF 1004 MB
OR 29.65 INCHES WAS LOCATED IN NORTHEASTERN TEXAS, ABOUT 40 MILES
WEST OF SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA. FROM THIS LOW, A WARM FRONT
STRETCHED SOUTHWARD THROUGH EASTERN TEXAS AND ALONG THE LOUISIANA
GULF COAST, WITH A COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH TEXAS. ANOTHER
FRONTAL SYSTEM EXTENDED THROUGH PORTIONS OF ARKANSAS AND THE
TENNESSEE VALLEY. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADARS AND SURFACE
OBSERVATIONS INDICATED HEAVY RAIN WITH THUNDERSTORMS IN EASTERN
TEXAS, MUCH OF THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY, AND SOUTHERN
MISSISSIPPI. FARTHER NORTH, LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN WAS FALLING
ACROSS THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND INTO THE OHIO VALLEY,
OVER AREAS THAT HAVE SEEN WIDESPREAD FLOODING OVER THE PAST WEEK.

THROUGH THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
FOR THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING, WITH
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF 2 TO 4 INCHES, WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS.
FOR THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY, OHIO VALLEY, AND PORTIONS OF
THE GREAT LAKES, AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN WITH LOCALLY
HIGHER AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT. PORTIONS OF
THE MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI AND OHIO VALLEYS HAVE RECEIVED 6 TO 10
INCHES OF RAIN OVER THE PAST WEEK, AND FLOODING IS STILL ONGOING.
THIS RAIN WILL ONLY EXACERBATE FLOODING CONCERNS.
