...Heavy rainfall threat ended as low pressure pulls away into the
Canadian Maritimes...
Flash flood warnings are in effect for portions of southwest Maine.
High Wind Advisories are in effect over much of Maine.

At 900 PM EST...An intense double barrel coastal low with an
estimated central pressure of 980 mb, or 28.93 in Hg continued to
track northeastward into the Canadian maritimes. As the system
lifts away from New England, surface observations and regional
radar show the precipitation shield associated with this system is
exiting Maine to the northeast. In the wake of this storm,
lingering gusty winds upwards of 30-40 mph were noted across the
Northeast and New England.

Conditions will improve across much of the Northeast as the system
pulls away tonight, although cold air arriving in the wake of the
storm will lead to heavy lake effect snowfall downwind of Lakes
Erie and Ontario. Elevation snowfall is also expected in the
Appalachians through tomorrow.
