Heavy rain is expected into tomorrow for much of California, with
rainfall amounts of 3-6" (locally 8-14") forecast in parts of
Southern California. This will result in locally catastrophic
flash and urban flooding impacts across Los Angeles. The impacts
do not stop there, however. Damaging winds and high surf are also
expected across Southern California tonight, likely leading to
power outages and downed trees. In the mountains, heavy wet snow
will continue across the Sierra Nevada through Monday. 2-3"/hour
snowfall rates combined with wind gusts will lead to whiteout
conditions and near impossible travel above 5000 feet.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 700 AM PST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
