The strong winter storm is forecast to track eastward into the
Ohio Valley today, producing disruptive heavy snowfall in the
Ozarks along the way. Beginning tonight, a separate low pressure
center will rapidly track off the Mid-Atlantic coastline, leading
to widespread heavy snowfall across central Pennsylvania, southern
New York, and southern New England through Tuesday. The
combination of heavy wet snow and powerful winds tied to this
rapidly strengthening system could lead to tree/powerline damage
and widespread travel impacts across the Northeast. Moreover,
moderate coastal flooding is expected along the Jersey Shore and
further north along the New England coastline. A Slight Risk of
excessive rainfall is also in effect over portions of the
Southeast today as heavy showers and thunderstorms continue in the
warm sector.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 400 PM EST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
