Juliet formed from a weak tropical wave that emerged off the African coast on September 30th. It moved
west-northwest, forming into a tropical depression by midday on October 7th about 600 miles east of San
Juan, Puerto Rico. By the morning of the 8th, the system had become a tropical storm 400 miles east-
northeast of San Juan. On the 9th, it passed 150 miles north of San Juan. The system accelerated northwest
and weakened, last seen 300 miles southwest of Bermuda before becoming absorbed into a nontropical low.
