Hurricane Olivia - October 21-26, 1975
Thunderstorm activity became concentated south of southwestern Mexico
on October 21st.
Moving northwestward, the system developed into a tropical depression
by the 22nd, and later
into a tropical storm and hurricane. The system recurved
northeastward as a major hurricane
into west-central Mexico during the early morning hours of October
25th, and quickly dissipated
after moving inland. The
graphics below show the storm total rainfall for Olivia, which used data
from the Comision Nacional del Agua, the parent agency of Mexico's
national weather service.
