Tropical Depression Nine - September 8-11, 1974

A well-organized tropical disturbance moved off the African coast, becoming a tropical depression southeast of
the Cape Verde Islands on September 2nd.  The system moved north of due west with little change in intensity,
moving north of the Leeward Islands.  The system weakened north of the Greater Antilles, dissipating as it moved
into the Southeast Bahamas.  The storm total precipitation maps for the depression are shown below, using data
supplied by the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, North Carolina.
