A tropical depression formed near Swan Island while Delia was
approaching Texas. The depression moved
northwest until nearing the Texas coast before slowing down
during recurvature. This led to over 10 inches
of rain across the Middle Texas coastline due to the systems slow
motion. Thereafter, the depression moved
through the Deep South, and on the 13th merged with an extratropical
cyclone moving by to its north, helping
to form a stronger cyclone offshore the East coast by the morning of
the 14th. The
