A tropical depression formed north of the Bahamas on the morning of
September 24th. Initially moving north-
northwest towards a break in the subtropical ridge, its northward
movement halted as ridging at the surface and
aloft turned the depression towards the west. The depression made
landfall near Marineland, and dissipated as
it crossed the Florida peninsula and approached the Gulf of Mexico. The
