Unnamed Tropical Storm - June 16-19,
1959
An easterly wave reached the northwest Caribbean on June 15th.
The system moved northwest and
developed a closed wind circulation in the east-central Gulf of Mexico
on the 17th. The system moved
quickly east-northeast, spawning a tornadoes near Miami and West Palm
Beach well in advance of its
center. Heavy rains fell to the east of its track, which caused
damage to crops near Fort Myers. After
passing through Florida, the system strengthened into a hurricane
before moving into Atlantic Canada.
