AT 900 PM EST...A SURFACE LOW WITH A CENTRAL PRESSURE OF 1009
MB...29.79 INCHES...WAS CENTERED ABOUT 70 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF
MINNEAPOLIS. THIS SURFACE LOW WHICH WAS ORIGINALLY DOMINANT IS NOW
WEAKENING AND ANOTHER LOW TO ITS EAST IS BECOMING DOMINANT. THAT
SURFACE LOW IS LOCATED 40 MILES DUE WEST OF CHICAGO. A COLD FRONT
EXTENDS FROM THIS LOW ALL THE WAY INTO THE SOUTHERN PLAINS AND A
WARM FRONT DRAPED ACROSS THE OHIO VALLEY AND INTO THE ATLANTIC
OCEAN. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS
INDICATE MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW FALLING IN MOST OF
MINNESOTA...WISCONSIN...AND THE NORTHERN HALF OF MICHIGAN. THERE
IS ALSO SOME LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW BEING REPORTED IN WESTERN
IOWA. FARTHER SOUTH AND EAST...LIGHT TO MODERATE SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ARE DEVELOPING IN A LINE FROM OHIO TO SOUTH CENTRAL
TEXAS. STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS ARE IN THE WAKE OF THE COLD
FRONT...AND SOME AREAS HAVE REPORTED GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH.

HEAVY SNOW IS EXPECTED FROM MINNESOTA TO MICHIGAN...AND INTO
EXTREME NORTHERN PORTIONS OF IOWA TONIGHT. ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL UP
TO 4 INCHES IS POSSIBLE ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE UPPER GREAT LAKES
REGION. SNOW WILL BEGIN TO TAPER OFF AND MAINLY BE DRIVEN BY LAKE
EFFECT TOMORROW MORNING AS THE FRONTAL SYSTEM MOVES TOWARD NEW
ENGLAND.
