LATER THIS EVENING...THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEMS ARE EXPECTED TO
BECOME MORE ORGANIZED AS THEY CONSOLIDATE OFF THE MID-ATLANTIC
COASTLINE...AND A SINGLE LOW PRESSURE CENTER IS EXPECTED TO
RAPIDLY DEEPEN. AS THIS PROCESS OCCURS...SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO
GROW IN COVERAGE AND INTENSITY ACROSS THE MID-ATLANTIC AND
NORTHEAST. ADDITIONALLY...AS THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM
STRENGTHENS...A TIGHTENING PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL RESULT IN
INCREASED WIND SPEEDS ACROSS THE MID-ATLANTIC AND NORTHEASTERN
STATES. WIND GUSTS AS HIGH AS 50 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE IN SOME
AREAS...RESULTING IN POSSIBLE BLIZZARD CONDITIONS...PRIMARILY IN
SOME AREAS ALONG THE NORTHEAST U.S. COAST. SNOW IS FORECAST TO
BEGIN TAPERING OFF ACROSS THE MID-ATLANTIC AND NORTHEAST FRIDAY
MORNING...BUT COULD CONTINUE ACROSS COASTAL AREAS OF THE NORTHEAST
INTO EARLY FRIDAY AFTERNOON. THE HEAVIEST ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL
AMOUNTS ARE FORECAST TO FALL FROM NORTHERN NEW JERSEY TO COASTAL
NEW ENGLAND...WHERE 6 TO 12 INCHES OF SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED. HIGHER
AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF A FOOT OF SNOW ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS PORTIONS
OF SOUTHEASTERN NEW ENGLAND. ELSEWHERE...1 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW IS
EXPECTED ACROSS A LARGE AREA FROM THE INTERIOR MID-ATLANTIC STATES
TO THE LOWER GREAT LAKES AND NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND. ADDITIONAL
SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE HIGHER
ELEVATIONS OF THE SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL APPALACHIANS.

THE NEXT STORM SUMMARY WILL BE ISSUED BY THE WEATHER PREDICTION
CENTER AT 1000 PM EST. PLEASE REFER TO YOUR LOCAL NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE OFFICE FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS EVENT.
