FRONT EXTENDED SOUTHWARD FROM THE LOW TO THE GULF COAST AND A WARM
FRONT EXTENDED EASTWARD FROM THE LOW ACROSS THE SOUTHEASTERN
STATES. NORTH OF THE SURFACE LOW...A MUCH COLDER ARCTIC AIR MASS
WAS MOVING SOUTHWARD ACROSS THE OHIO VALLEY AND MID-ATLANTIC
STATES. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADARS AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS
INDICATED SNOW FALLING IN A BAND FROM KENTUCKY EASTWARD TO THE
DELMARVA PENINSULA. SNOW WAS GENERALLY LIGHT TO MODERATE. ON THE
SOUTHERN EDGE OF THE SNOW AREA...PRECIPITATION WAS FALLING AS A
MIX OF SNOW...SLEET...AND FREEZING RAIN ACROSS PORTIONS OF
SOUTHERN WEST VIRGINIA AND SOUTHERN VIRGINIA. ACROSS THE

MORNING...BEFORE BEGINNING TO TAPER OFF BY EARLY MONDAY AFTERNOON.
SNOWFALL TOTALS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES WILL BE COMMON IN A BAND FROM
WEST VIRGINIA EASTWARD ACROSS VIRGINIA...MARYLAND...DELAWARE...AND
SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY. LOCALLY HIGHER SNOWFALL AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE.
AREAS OF SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE ON THE SOUTHERN
EDGE OF THE SNOW AREA...ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTH CAROLINA AND
VIRGINIA. FREEZING RAIN ICE ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE RELATIVELY
LIGHT...GENERALLY LESS THAN A TENTH OF AN INCH.
