THE COAST OF SOUTH CAROLINA ALONG A STATIONARY FRONT. MOISTURE
FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO CONTINUED TO BE LIFTED AND TRANSPORTED TO
THE NORTH OF THIS FRONTAL BOUNDARY AS ARCTIC AIR NEAR THE SURFACE
CONTINUED TO FILTER IN FROM THE NORTH. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE

EASTWARD INTO THE ATLANTIC LATER TODAY. MOISTURE ASSOCIATED WITH
THIS LOW IS EXPECTED TO MOVE STEADILY EASTWARD ACROSS THE
SOUTHEAST AND WILL BEGIN TO TAPER OFF FROM WEST TO EAST BY THIS
EVENING. 0.1 TO 0.25 INCHES OF FREEZING RAIN IS POSSIBLE TODAY
INTO THIS EVENING FROM SOUTHERN SOUTH CAROLINA EASTWARD TO COASTAL
NORTH CAROLINA. FARTHER NORTH...COLDER AIR WILL SUPPORT SNOW TO
FALL FROM THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS EASTWARD INTO NORTH CAROLINA
AND SOUTHERN VIRGINA...WHERE ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATION SHOULD
RANGE FROM A FEW INCHES IN SOUTHERN VIRGINIA TO 6 TO 8 INCHES FROM
SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS EASTWARD ACROSS NORTH CAROLINA.
