A COLD FRONT EXTENDED FROM SOUTHERN NEVADA EASTWARD TO SOUTHERN
TEXAS AND ACROSS THE DEEP SOUTH. VERY COLD AIR CONTINUED TO PUSH
INTO THE SOUTHERN PLAINS AND SOUTHWEST U.S. COURTESY OF AN ARCTIC
HIGH DROPPING SOUTHWARD THROUGH THE NORTHERN PLAINS. NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE RADAR AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS REVEALED LIGHT TO
MODERATE SNOW ACROSS SOUTHERN UTAH...NORTHERN ARIZONA...NEW
MEXICO...COLORADO...SOUTHERN HALF OF KANSAS AS WELL AS PORTIONS OF
OKLAHOMA AND THE TEXAS PANHANDLE. SNOW WAS ALSO OBSERVED IN PARTS
OF CENTRAL ARKANSAS AND SOUTHERN MISSOURI. THERE WERE ALSO REPORTS
OF SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN SPANNING ACROSS NORTH TEXAS AND INTO

AND FOUR CORNERS REGION AS THE ARCTIC HIGH MOVES OVER THE CENTRAL
PLAINS. WITH THE HELP OF UPPER LEVEL FORCING...WIDESPREAD HEAVY
SNOW AND WINTRY MIX WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MONDAY. ACCUMULATIONS OF
1 TO 2 FEET OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED IN THE MOUNTAINS OF SOUTHERN
UTAH...SOUTHERN COLORADO...AND NORTHERN NEW MEXICO. GREATER THAN 2
FEET OF SNOW IS LIKELY IN THE HIGH ELEVATIONS OF SOUTHERN
COLORADO. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 12 INCHES ARE FORECAST IN THE
MOUNTAINS OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 4
INCHES ARE EXPECTED FROM THE HIGH PLAINS EXTENDING FROM EASTERN
COLORADO INTO SOUTHWEST KANSAS AND SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA AND THE TEXAS
PANHANDLE. MEANWHILE...UP TO A QUARTER INCH OF FREEZING RAIN AND
SLEET MAY ACCUMULATE ACROSS NORTH AND CENTRAL TEXAS...NORTHERN
LOUISIANA...SOUTHERN ARKANSAS...NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI...NORTHERN
ALABAMA...AND NORTHERN GEORGIA. MUCH OF THE PRECIPITATION WILL
FALL TODAY AND MONDAY...AND THEN DECREASE IN COVERAGE AND
INTENSITY MONDAY NIGHT.
