Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 821 AM EDT Wed May 24 2017 Valid 00Z Thu May 25 2017 - 00Z Thu Jun 01 2017 Dissipating boundary just to the north of Kauai will wash out as a strong high pressure (1041mb) slides northeastward and weakens. Moisture axis with the front will slowly sink a bit farther south and linger for a few days before PW values decrease. Showers will be more widespread over Kauai and maybe Oahu into Thursday. Heights will lower later this week into the weekend as a trough swings by to the northeast of the region, but the area will stay on the relative drier side of the upper flow, with mainly scattered windward showers. Next week, ensembles agree on rising heights to the NW and SE of the 50th state that eventually converge over Hawai'i during the middle of the week, promoting a rather quiet and drier pattern with slowly increasing trades.
