Light and variable winds are expected as a front approaches from
the northwest on Friday. This front is forecast to stall over or
near kauai and possibly Oahu through Saturday. PW values
associated with the front are forecast to be relatively low
(1.0-1.25 inch), so expect a relatively modest increase in shower
activity across Hawaii, with pockets of moderate rainfall amounts
possible into the weekend. The front is forecast to dissipate as
it lefts northward early next week. Guidance is in general
agreement that light to moderate trades should resume next week,
with generally light windward/mauka showers expected. Another
front should approach the area later next week, but appears likely
to remain just northwest of the area through at least next
Thursday per consensus of model/ensemble guidance.
