The amplified trough and embedded closed low north of Hawaii
should begin lifting away from the state by today or Thursday.
Strong anomalous moisture surging northward across the state will
continue to support widespread and possibly heavy rainfall across
mainly Kauai through Thursday where a flood watch is in effect.
Intensity and exact amounts will remain highly dependent on small
scale details which still remain uncertain. Elsewhere across the
main islands, the increased moisture should result in mainly
scattered showers and typical sea breeze enhancements. By the end
of this week and into the weekend, the trough will begin to lift
out and upper ridging once again builds across the region with
breezy easterly trades resuming and lasting into the middle of
next week with limited precipitation coverage across the state.
