Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 1254 AM EDT Tue May 24 2022 Valid 00Z Wed May 25 2022 - 00Z Wed Jun 1 2022 The main subtropical high north of Hawaii will generally move eastward around 32 degrees north, with a col in the ridge developing over the far northwestern Islands by the end of the week as a trailing front from a low pressure system well to the north approaches. Meanwhile, an upper ridge builds east of the Big Island by next weekend with good support from the ensemble means. In terms of sensible weather, mainly scattered showers and typical terrain enhancements are expected across the Islands with winds generally out of the east at 10-20 mph on most days, with perhaps some ESE flow at times. No major heavy rainfall events are anticipated over the next week as deep tropical moisture remains generally south of 15 degrees north through the period. Hamrick
