Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 326 AM EDT Thu Jun 02 2022 Valid 00Z Fri Jun 03 2022 - 00Z Fri Jun 10 2022 Hawaii's weather looks to remain relatively dry and quiet through the next week or so, as an upper ridge is positioned over and west of the state and it looks to persist into next week. At the surface, a high pressure ridge to the north will continue to promote moderate trade winds for the next couple of days. This pattern could lead to some windward and mountain showers, but these are expected to be few and far between as the ridging aloft creates an inversion (not allowing for much vertical development of any showers that try to develop) and moisture levels are below normal. Models show that the trade winds could decrease somewhat by this weekend for more of a hybrid pattern of nighttime land breezes/afternoon sea breezes in weaker easterly trade flow. Trades are forecast to increase back to moderate levels early next week and could become breezier by around midweek. For the most part, available moisture is currently expected to stay below normal for continued mainly dry weather. Tate
