Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 328 AM EDT Fri Jun 03 2022 Valid 00Z Sat Jun 04 2022 - 00Z Sat Jun 11 2022 Models and ensembles reasonably agree that the weather pattern looks to remain relatively dry and quiet for Hawaii over the next week. An upper ridge over and west of the state may persist well into next week even with some introduction underneath of weak impulses. Near the surface, high pressure ridge strength and positioning just to the north of the state now seems more likely to support below normal mean trade winds. This pattern could lead to some windward and mountain showers, but these are expected to be few and far between as the ridging aloft creates an inversion (not allowing for much vertical development of any showers that try to develop) and moisture levels remain below normal.
