Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 252 AM EDT Thu Jun 09 2022 Valid 00Z Fri Jun 10 2022 - 00Z Fri Jun 17 2022 A composite of still reasonably clustered models and ensembles indicates that surface high pressure centered to the northeast of the state should support only light to moderate trades into early next week in a mainly tranquil weather pattern for the islands. Showers should be limited statewide as moisture levels should remain below normal, even as less certain vorticity centers embedded within a mean upper ridge over the state provide some local focus. Flow amplification over the Pacific mid-latitudes may allow renewing high pressure to bridge to the north of the state by the middle of next week and act to increase trades and shower fueling moisture in a pattern favoring windward terrain.
