Models are fairly well clustered through about early next week in
showing upper ridging building over the islands into late week as
surface high pressure strengthens to the northeast and north of
Hawaii supporting moderate/breezy trade winds. These trades should
persist into next week to carry waves of enhanced moisture through
the state, but rainfall amounts should remain generally modest
with windward and mauka based showers. An upper trough passing
through the region from the east this weekend offers some
additional lift, but deepest moisture will remain well south of
the state. After this, upper riding should again build over and
north of the region by the middle of next week.
