The latest models and ensemble means are in decent agreement
through early next week in indicating upper ridging building north
over the Islands, as the main surface high strengthens to the
north of Hawaii and slowly moves towards the west.  This will tend
to support moderate/breezy trade winds through most of the
upcoming week.  These low-mid level winds will carry waves of
enhanced moisture across the state, but rainfall amounts should
remain generally modest with primarily windward based showers over
the favored terrain.  An inverted upper trough passing through the
region from the east this weekend offers some additional lift, but
the deepest moisture will remain well south of the state closer to
the ITCZ.  Beyond this time, upper riding should again build over
and north of the region by the middle of next week.
