Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 335 AM EDT Fri Jul 01 2022 Valid 00Z Sat Jul 02 2022 - 00Z Sat Jul 09 2022 A reasonably strong surface high is expected to persist well to the north of Hawaii through the weekend into next week, drifting a bit westward and then back eastward through the period. Meanwhile an upper high will also be in place north of the state. This pattern will continue to support generally breezy to windy easterly trade winds over the next several days, with some windward and mauka/mountain showers possible. A period of enhanced moisture could be drawn northward this weekend as an inverted trough passes over, which could increase shower activity, but by early next week near to below normal moisture conditions are expected to return. Some slight weakening of the trades may occur by the latter part of next week, but winds will likely still moderate to breezy. Tate
