Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 318 AM EDT Sat Jul 02 2022 Valid 00Z Sun Jul 03 2022 - 00Z Sun Jul 10 2022 A rather stagnant weather pattern is expected over Hawaii through the next week or so, with a reasonably strong surface high well to the north of Hawaii that could drift a bit westward early next week and then back eastward through the period. Meanwhile an upper high will also be in place north of the state. This pattern will continue to support generally breezy to windy easterly trade winds over the next several days, with some windward and mauka/mountain showers possible. A period of enhanced moisture could be drawn northward this weekend as an inverted trough passes over, which may increase shower activity and perhaps lead to some showers making it over to leeward areas, especially for the eastern islands. By early-mid next week, near to below normal moisture conditions are expected to return, though there are some indications moisture levels could increase once again by the latter part of next week. Some slight weakening of the trades may occur later next week as well, but winds will likely still moderate to breezy. Tate
