Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 326 AM EDT Thu Jul 07 2022 Valid 00Z Fri Jul 08 2022 - 00Z Fri Jul 15 2022 Generally moderate to breezy trade winds are forecast for the next day or two over Hawaii with a Pacific surface high centered well to the northwest, but as the high drifts eastward and strengthens a bit by the weekend into early next week, breezy to possibly windy trades are expected to return and last through much of next week. Meanwhile, some periods of slightly above average moisture are possible especially over the Big Island through late week into the weekend, which may lead to some increased shower coverage especially over windward and mauka areas. Then drier and sunnier conditions are forecast to return to the state early next week, but model guidance has been persistently showing the potential for moisture from what is currently Hurricane Bonnie could pass over Hawaii around midweek next week. Though Bonnie is forecast to dissipate before then, the remnant moisture could lead to increased rainfall chances for Hawaii. Tate
