The models and ensemble means continue to agree upon a mostly
persistent easterly trade wind pattern with varying speeds and
mostly windward/mountain showers through the period, as surface
high pressure settles over the east-central Pacific Ocean.
Moderate to occasionally brisk trades early this week and may
weaken somewhat by midweek as an elongated upper trough moves in
from the east and expands over/north of the state. This may
provide a little more potential for sea breeze influence and an
uptick in showers if the background flow weakens sufficiently as a
period of deeper moisture moves through associated with the
trough. Upper level ridging and high pressure should build over
and north of the state by the early to middle part of next week
with increasingly stronger trade winds expected.
