The models and ensemble means continue to agree upon a mostly
persistent easterly trade wind pattern with varying speeds and
windward/mountain showers through the period, as surface high
pressure settles over the east-central Pacific Ocean. Trade winds
may weaker through this week as an elongated upper trough expands
over/north of the state which could provide a little more
potential for sea breeze influence and an uptick in showers if the
background flow weakens sufficiently as a period of deeper
moisture moves through. Upper level ridging and high pressure
should again build over and north of the state by the early to
middle part of next week with moderate to breezy trade winds
resuming.
