The models and ensemble means continue to agree upon a mostly
persistent easterly trade wind pattern with varying speeds and
windward/mountain showers through the period, as surface high
pressure settles over the east-central Pacific Ocean. Weak trades
continue into Friday as an elongated upper trough expands
over/north of the state which could also provide a little more
potential for sea breeze influence and an uptick in showers as a
period of deeper moisture moves through. Upper level ridging and
high pressure should again build over and north of the state by
this weekend and into early next week with moderate to breezy
trade winds. By around the middle of next week, another wave looks
to approach weakening the background flow and with some possible
additional showers across Hawaii.
