Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 138 AM EDT Fri Jul 29 2022 Valid 00Z Sat Jul 30 2022 - 00Z Sat Aug 6 2022 The models and ensemble means continue to agree upon a mostly persistent easterly trade wind pattern, with primarily windward/mountain enhanced showers through the period, as a large surface high remains anchored in place over the east-central Pacific Ocean. Aloft, a weak upper low is expected to slowly track westward near the far northwestern Islands through the upcoming weekend, but it should not have a noteworthy impact on the weather. Upper level ridging and high pressure should again build over and north of the state by late Sunday and into early next week with moderate to breezy trade winds. By around the middle of next week, another wave of low pressure will likely approach, weakening the background flow and with some possible additional showers across Hawaii. Hamrick
