Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 353 AM EDT Tue Sep 13 2022 Valid 00Z Wed Sep 14 2022 - 00Z Wed Sep 21 2022 Moderate trade winds are likely over the next day or two across Hawaii, causing potential for showers to be focused mainly over windward/mountain areas. Then trades are forecast to die down somewhat by later in the week, allowing for land/sea breezes to form. Through much of this week, periods of above average moisture are expected, and upper level troughing should lift inversion heights beginning around midweek. This will allow for potential for enhanced clouds and shower coverage, and even perhaps some thunderstorms. Models show moisture levels may briefly return to near normal around Saturday before increasing again for early next week. By around Monday-Tuesday of next week an upper high may sneak into Hawaii, while trades pick back up to moderate levels. Tate
