Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 1250 AM EST Fri Nov 11 2022 Valid 00Z Sat Nov 12 2022 - 00Z Sat Nov 19 2022 The surface low and inverted trough situated east of Hawaii is forecast to weaken as it very slowly drifts to the west through the weekend. By early next week, a larger low pressure system develops over the North Pacific and this is expected to produce a col in the subtropical ridge axis with a trailing frontal boundary perhaps reaching the northwestern Islands by Wednesday. In terms of trade winds, the models generally agree on a moderately breezy northeast flow through Saturday and then veering some to the east-northeast and becoming a little weaker going into Sunday and Monday as the high to the northwest exerts less influence. It appears the relatively dry pattern across most of the state should continue through the upcoming week, with some light to moderate showers for the northeast facing terrain of the larger Islands.
