Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 242 AM EST Tue Nov 22 2022 Valid 00Z Wed Nov 23 2022 - 00Z Wed Nov 30 2022 Breezy to strong easterly trade winds of the past few days should gradually weaken today and Wednesday as the surface high pulls away from Hawaii. A few showers that form should favor windward and mountain areas across the Big Island to Molokai. Then, moisture could increase and focus just ahead of a cold front that looks to come across the entire state Thanksgiving Day for some increased shower coverage along and ahead of it Wednesday-Thursday. These showers should be quickly moving before clearing out behind the front and yielding a dry pattern. Northeasterly to northerly winds could be notably strong behind the front Thursday into Friday. The front is currently forecast to weaken and diminish south of Hawaii this weekend, and winds should weaken considerably over the state to promote a land/sea breeze pattern. Moisture looks to increase a bit over the weekend, with a greater increase likely into next Monday-Tuesday. Tate
