High pressure north of Hawaii will maintain moderate to breezy
trade winds into early next week. This should feature some modest
moisture for windward terrain/mountain focusing showers as well.
The models continue to indicate weakening and veering trades
around the middle of next week ahead of a digging upper trough to
the northwest of the state. This should bring a cold front and
deeper moisture into the region increasing showers and with some
heavy rainfall potential across Hawaii later in the week. There's
increasing confidence in this setup, but with plenty of lingering
uncertainty in the details. North to northeasterly winds and
showers may linger over Hawaii into next weekend ahead of another
possible trough well to the north of the state.
