Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 253 AM EST Thu Jan 26 2023 Valid 00Z Fri Jan 27 2023 - 00Z Fri Feb 3 2023 A large upper low with accompanying surface low will be situated north of Hawaii through Saturday, generally in the vicinity of 35 degrees north. This low will then lift northward and well away from the state by Sunday, although a trailing trough and surface frontal boundary will likely remain in the vicinity of the Islands going into early next week. An unsettled weather pattern will be present most days with scattered to numerous showers and some thunderstorms, especially going into the weekend with several inches of rainfall possible across the northeast facing terrain. Some instances of flooding will be possible. Low level winds will likely increase across the northwestern Islands on Thursday behind the frontal boundary in northerly to northeast flow.
