Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 259 AM EST Mon Mar 06 2023 Valid 00Z Tue Mar 07 2023 - 00Z Tue Mar 14 2023 A cold front passing through the northwestern islands is in store today, which should focus moisture along and ahead of it for showers and possible storms in southwesterly flow. The front and its moisture band and showers may stall over Maui Monday night into early Tuesday, but another cold front is expected to follow close behind the first around Tuesday-Wednesday. An upper low is forecast to track just north of Hawaii and push the fronts east, leading to breezy to windy conditions behind the front Wednesday. This will also clear out the moisture for a drying trend by around Thursday-Friday, with lower dewpoints and few if any showers. By late week into the weekend, wind speeds will decline, while there remains some uncertainty about timing of any moisture return (perhaps by early next week). Tate
