Surface high pressure bridged to the north of the islands should
support moderate to breezy trades over the next few days. Upper
troughing over the state will combine with trades to produce
scattered and windward terrain enhanced showers/downpours. Trade
supporting ridging to the north of the state should weaken this
weekend. A favored composite of reasonably well clustered model
and ensemble guidance indicates that flow amplification over the
Pacific mid-upper latitudes should then force a front down to the
north of the state whose lead flow response may support some
tropical moisture return into the state into early next week,
possibly followed by an uptick of trades as high pressure rebuilds
to the north of the islands.
