A stalled lead front/trough is focusing showers across the islands
today with some locally heavy downpours possible given pooled
moisture. Modest trades will support return moisture advection
into the region through the weekend with additional showers
possible as the boundary shifts westward over the state. Models
and ensembles reasonably agree that a new central Pacific closed
system set to dig to the north of the state will bring another
trailing cold front and chances for additional rainfall to the
islands by early next week. The front may stall across the state
and linger into mid-later next week in disrupted trade flow as the
main supporting closed upper low/trough to the north slides only
slowly eastward.
