A favored composite blend of the model guidance has good ensemble
support overall in a pattern with average to above average
predictability. An upper-level trough and surface front from the
west-central Pacific mid-latitudes will pass to the west of the
state the next couple of days. Subsequent higher precipitation
chances will spread eastward enough to bring showers to Kauai and
Oahu Tuesday-Wednesday, potentially lingering into Thursday. The
upper-level trough/surface frontal boundary are forecast to
weaken/dissipate by late week as an expansive area of high
pressure consolidates to the north. Moderate, breezy trades should
settle in under this pattern with daily windward shower chances,
particlarly favoring the big island.
