Models and ensembles reasonably agree that a recent pattern with
breezy trades and a limited shower focus will soon transition. A
favored guidance composite indicates that an upper weakness will
develop and linger over the state over the next few days as trades
ease a bit with a weakening of supporting high pressure bridged to
the north of the state. Pooling moisture under the weakness could
refuel some showers and local downpour activity. There is a
growing guidance trend to sink reinforcing upper trough energies
down toward the island through the upcoming extended holiday
weekend to extend the unsettled pattern as trades try to
strengthen as high pressure rebuilds to the north of the state.
