Trade winds should remain fairly weak this weekend and early next
week as an approaching front erodes high pressure to the north of
Hawaii. This supports drier conditions overall across the state,
with models advertising lower than average precipitable water
values. Trades should rebound around mid to later next week, with
some increasing shower chances too, as high pressure once again
becomes established north of the region. There is very good
agreement on this overall pattern, so a general model compromise
should be a reasonable starting point for the forecast over the
next week.
