Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 329 AM EDT Tue Jun 06 2023 Valid 00Z Wed Jun 07 2023 - 00Z Wed Jun 14 2023 Trade winds should remain fairly weak the next day or so as a front to the north of Hawaii slides eastward but trades look to rebound some again by the weekend as high pressure expands north of the state. Expect an increase in shower chances too across the state, particularly for favorable areas. The surface high to the north should get pushed eastward and become established to the northeast of Hawaii early next week, with moderate to breeze trade winds to result. There is very good agreement on this overall pattern, but there are some differences in timing of the next trough and strength of the upper high in the Northeast Pacific early to middle of next week. A general model compromise between deterministic and ensemble mean solutions should help smooth out any of these differences. Santorelli
