Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 351 AM EDT Fri Jun 16 2023 Valid 00Z Sat Jun 17 2023 - 00Z Sat Jun 24 2023 A Pacific surface high well to the northeast of Hawaii will meander somewhat through the weekend and potentially drift westward mid-late next week to a position north of the state. Regardless of the high's exact position and strength on any given day, its influence should extend to Hawaii to maintain moderate to breezy easterly trades through the upcoming week. After a relatively dry day Friday, showers may increase this weekend into early next week as a small upper low comes atop the state that could allow for a lessening inversion aloft. Given the trades, showers should favor windward and mauka areas. Slightly above average moisture levels may be seen but no major surges of tropical moisture are expected over the next week with the deepest moisture confined to the ITCZ. Shower coverage may lessen by Tuesday and beyond as the upper low weakens and moves away. Tate
