Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 335 AM EDT Tue Jun 20 2023 Valid 00Z Wed Jun 21 2023 - 00Z Wed Jun 28 2023 Quiet weather is expected across Hawaii today/Tuesday as trade winds should be around moderate levels and the upper low weakens and pulls away. Mid-upper ridging looks to build in its place, which will increase stability and lessen chances for too many showers. Meanwhile a Pacific high is forecast to move southwest closer to the state, with its influence extending to increase easterly trades to breezy levels Wednesday-Thursday and perhaps strengthening further to windy levels by Friday and continuing through the weekend into early next week. Any showers that do form should favor windward areas, but widespread rain is not expected. There is some signal for more of a trough pattern aloft to come in by next Monday-Tuesday, but not with a notable surface pattern change or increasing moisture, but this will continue to be monitored.
