Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 401 AM EDT Tue Jul 11 2023 Valid 00Z Wed Jul 12 2023 - 00Z Wed Jul 19 2023 A fairly typical and persistent trade wind pattern should hold over Hawaii for the next week with surface high pressure holding strong north/northwest of Hawaii and an upper level ridge over the state. A pocked of increased moisture should move through the state today (associated with former Tropical Cyclone Adrian) with slight increases in chances for windward and mountain shower coverage. Otherwise, drier conditions and modest trades should persist into next week. Trade wind speeds and moisture may begin to increase around next Tuesday as a tropical disturbance approaches the islands. The models continue to have a good handle on the overall pattern over Hawaii, with uncertainties in the details, especially surrounding any kind of potential tropical system around the middle of next week to the east of Hawaii.
