Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 154 AM EDT Wed Jul 12 2023 Valid 00Z Thu Jul 13 2023 - 00Z Thu Jul 20 2023 The pattern over Hawaii remains rather stagnant through about this weekend as surface high pressure anchors north/northwest of Hawaii with an upper level ridge over the state. This should result in a fairly typical trade wind pattern and little in the way of rain showers across the state. The latest guidance continues to suggest that newly formed TD Three-E may approach the state around the middle of next week. There does remain plenty of uncertainties in the details and placement of this system, but current guidance shows at least increased wind speeds and moisture ahead of its approach towards Hawaii. Depending on the exact track of this system (tropical or not by day 7), heavy rainfall could be possible across portions of the islands. This system will need to be monitored closely in the coming days for any potential impacts on Hawaii around Wednesday of next week. Santorelli
