Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 348 AM EDT Wed Jul 19 2023 Valid 00Z Thu Jul 20 2023 - 00Z Thu Jul 27 2023 After Tropical Storm Calvin passes by the Big Island early Wednesday, conditions should return to a more typical trade wind flow pattern across Hawaii for the end of the week and into the weekend. The main subtropical high will be centered well north of the state near 35 degrees north, and a larger surface high near 45N/170W through Friday. The subtropical high should remain anchored in place through early next week, with the center of the high drifting some to the east based on the latest ensemble means. Lingering showers from the weakening tropical storm can be expected through early Wednesday night with normal trade wind enhanced showers expected for the remainder of the forecast period, with flow generally out of the east-northeast most days.
