A reasonably strong surface high to the northwest of Hawaii is
forecast to drift east early this week and then meander due north
of the state around 40N latitude through the week. The influence
of this high will lead to persistent and likely breezy easterly
trades through the next week, with perhaps minor variations in
speed from day to day. For Sunday, some slightly higher moisture
looks to move through and temporarily enhance some shallow shower
activity that should favor windward and mauka areas. After that,
relatively dry conditions are expected for the rest of the week
with lower than normal precipitable water values and an upper
ridge/high producing an inversion aloft.
